Spit, grit and a whole lot of duct tape!

I am discovering with the blog that one needs to write when the moment is right! The heading of this blog is from the movie of Madagascar 2. My children often quote it at home – in the movie, the plane has crashed that is going to take the animals home and they are all asking what to do – the answer given is “Spit and grit and a whole lot of duct tape!” This week I worked more days in the classrom than I have for awhile! It took a lot of grit and energy! Grit is a term used in the Postive Psych world and a term that is so important in life.  Grit is that digging deep when things get tough, but with it grit bring lots of positive emotion!  At times it was difficult juggling it all, but here it is on Friday night and I am experiencing many positive emotions after a massive week of work! I am so thankful for suriving the week, I am relieved that it is over, I feel a sense of achievement that the family all survived happily and I feel very relaxed as I sit here in front of the warm fire reflecting on the week! It is interesting that with our pace of modern day life we don’t often take time to reflect on life and the positive emotions! As the week of work draws to an end may you find time to reflect  on the times you showed grit and pick out some of the positive emotions of the week!

  1. I’m impressed, I must say. Seldom do I come across a blog that’s equally educative and interesting, and without
a doubt, you’ve hit the nail on the head. The problrm is something which too few folks are
speaking intelligently about. Now i’m very happy that I stumbled across this during
my hunt for something relating to this.
