If this isn’t nice, what is?

It is the last day of holidays and my man and I had a chance to sit outside enjoying a cuppa and time together. As we sat there I was reminded of what I had read last night. “If this isn’t nice what is?”

“One of the things [Uncle Alex] found objectionable about human beings was that they so rarely noticed it when they were happy. He himself did his best to acknowledge it when times were sweet. We could be drinking lemonade in the shade of an apple tree in the summertime, and Uncle Alex would interrupt the conversation to say, “If this isn’t nice, what is?”   Kurt Vonnegut –  Brainpickings

Being able to be in the moment and enjoy the little things in life is a gift. It is a gift that we also need to be able to give our children and family.  As the weekend comes along, among the tedious, everyday things, may you have the chance to say aloud to your kids, husband, friends:

If this isn’t nice, what is?
